Components of a sprinkler system

Main technical components

01

Water supply source

  • Fire water storage tank and/or connection to the public water supply;
  • Above-ground or underground tank, as specified in the design;
  • Fire brigade connection for supplementary water supply.
02

Pump set

  • Main fire pump – electrically driven;
  • Standby pump – electric or diesel-driven, where specified;
  • Jockey pump – maintains system pressure and compensates for minor leaks;
  • Suction and discharge manifolds;
  • Isolation valves and check valves;
  • Pressure gauges and pressure switches;
  • Electrical control and automation panels.
03

Sprinkler control valve assembly

  • Control and alarm assembly / alarm valve;
  • Main control valve;
  • Alarm valve;
  • Check valve;
  • Pressure gauges;
  • Alarm pressure switch;
  • Test device;
  • Drain pipe and drain valve;
  • Where required, a retard chamber and water motor alarm gong for alarm signalling.
04

Pipework network

  • Main supply pipe;
  • Vertical risers;
  • Distribution mains;
  • Branch lines;
  • Fittings: elbows, tees, reducers, couplings and more;
  • Supports, brackets and fixings;
  • Expansion joints and flexible connections where required;
  • Section isolation valves.
06

Monitoring and alarm equipment

  • Flow switch / water flow detector;
  • Pressure switches;
  • Valve position supervisory switches;
  • Tank level sensors;
  • Pump set sensors and pressure switches;
  • Signals such as “Fire Pump Running”, “Fault” and “Low Pressure”;
  • Signal transmission to the fire alarm control panel or BMS, as specified in the design.
07

Testing and maintenance equipment

  • Inspector’s Test Connection;
  • Test and drain valves;
  • Drain pipes;
  • Pressure measurement points;
  • Flow meter or pump test circuit, depending on the configuration.

From a plan.
To a working system.

We coordinate every stage. You work with a team that knows the facility and takes responsibility for continuity throughout the project.

01

Assess and design

We assess the facility, clarify requirements and develop the technical solution.

02

Supply and install

We select equipment and install the systems.

03

Test and commission

We configure automation and verify system operation.

04

Maintain and upgrade

Scheduled inspections, diagnostics, repairs and upgrades.

03 / Experience in practice
