Fire Sprinkler Systems Installation at Cuza Voda 5 LOID Residential Complex, Chisinau

Protectie SRL successfully completed a comprehensive project involving the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of automatic fire suppression systems at Cuza Vodă 5 LOID Residential Complex in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

The project covered the residential building and underground parking facility, including the installation of automatic water-based fire sprinkler systems, a fire pump station, wet and dry sprinkler control valve assemblies, fire protection piping networks, and shut-off and regulating valves.

A key component of the project was the installation of a 21 m³ (21,000-liter) fire water storage tank, equipped with an automated filling and water level control system.

The installed fire protection infrastructure is designed to provide a reliable water supply for automatic fire suppression, help control fires, and limit their spread throughout the protected areas.

Installed Fire Protection Systems and Equipment

1. Fire Pump Station

A fire pump station was installed to supply water to the automatic sprinkler fire suppression systems serving the residential building and underground parking facility.

The station provides the water pressure and flow required for the operation of the sprinkler systems.

2. Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems

Automatic water-based fire sprinkler systems were installed to protect the residential complex and underground parking areas.

Sprinkler heads are designed to activate individually when exposed to temperatures reaching their rated activation threshold, distributing water directly over the affected area to help control and suppress fires.

3. Wet and Dry Sprinkler Control Valve Assemblies

The project included the installation of two types of sprinkler control valve assemblies:

• Dry Pipe Sprinkler Control Valve Assembly – Designed for sprinkler systems where the piping is filled with pressurized air or gas, commonly used in areas exposed to freezing temperatures.

• Wet Pipe Sprinkler Control Valve Assembly – Designed for sprinkler systems where the piping remains filled with water, allowing immediate water discharge when a sprinkler activates.

These assemblies provide essential control and monitoring functions for the respective fire sprinkler systems.

4. Fire Protection Piping Networks

Fire protection piping networks were installed to distribute water from the fire pump station to the sprinkler systems throughout the residential complex and underground parking facility.

5. Shut-Off and Regulating Valves

Shut-off valves, regulating valves, and other necessary fittings were installed to control water flow and facilitate the operation, inspection, and maintenance of the fire protection systems.

6. Fire Water Storage Tank – 21 m³

A dedicated 21 m³ (21,000-liter) fire water storage tank was installed to store the water reserve required for the fire suppression systems.

The tank forms an important part of the fire protection water supply infrastructure.

7. Automated Water Tank Filling System

An automated water tank filling and level control system was implemented to manage water replenishment and monitor the tank's water level.

The automation helps maintain the required water reserve for the fire suppression systems.

8. Testing, Commissioning and Handover

Following installation, the fire protection equipment underwent configuration, functional testing, and commissioning.

The completed systems were checked for proper operation and handed over for service.
